The story of Gifflar began with exactly that kind of moment — a small twist in a Swedish bakery that turned into something far bigger than anyone expected.
Before long, that “mistake” became a beloved snack, baked with care and shared in countless everyday moments around the world.
This is the story of how it all began.
Some stories start big. Ours started with a happy accident
Back in Sweden, in a bakery with flour on the floor and cinnamon in the air, something unexpected happened. Traditional cinnamon buns were being baked the classic way — until a few of them tipped over during baking. Nothing dramatic. Just a little bakery chaos.
But instead of seeing a mistake… someone saw potential.
Those tilted buns were still just as delicious. Maybe even better. Easier to grab. More fun to eat. A little rebellious in shape, but perfect in taste.
And just like that, Gifflar was born.
Gifflar - just ONE more
Today, Gifflar is still baked in Sweden, using carefully selected ingredients and Swedish flour from our own mill — continuing a baking tradition that goes all the way back to 1878, when a small family bakery first started in Malmö.
What began as a bakery moment of “oops” has grown into something much bigger. Gifflar are now enjoyed in homes, lunchboxes, late-night snacks, movie nights, road trips, and quiet “just one more” moments all over the world.
Soft, swirling, slightly too delicious to settle for one, you always need to grab just ONE more.
